RIGHT BRAIN

When I was asked to be in a group show called Obsession, an artistic rendering of the left brain and right brain inspired me. I couldn't stop thinking about it, nor could I wait to see the advertisement again, even though the image was stuck in my head. The left brain was represented by clean structural lines in neutral tones. It was control - beautiful and confident. In contrast, the right brain's loose energy was full of chaotic movement with bright colors oozing outside the form. It was excitement - brilliant and daring. I began to think of how I would make vessels to represent both sides of the brain. This led to months in the hot shop working on my new 'obsession'.

Years later, I still enjoy making the right brain vessels. When I am stuck on what to make, I often set up to make a couple of these to get my creative side warmed up.
